# Categories Pending

 * I’m new to wordpress but not to webmistressing but I’m darned if I can get this
   one worked out.
 * Everything workd fine for me since my installation except when I look on my dashboard
   it says the one catergory I have is pending. This is the default category although
   I renamed it and the posts, etc show up fine. This is really starting to bug 
   me as I don;t understand why it says pending when it obviously isn’t LOL I’ve
   tried taking out the post and readding, I’ve tried making other catoguries and
   deleting them as well as deleting my cache as I’ve been reading post here all
   night but to no avail.
 * Any help I can get would be very gratefully recieved. My test blog can be found

 * Might want to put a user warning with your post, not everyone here will find 
   the content “suitable” viewing..
 * The problem described is not one that can be helped by viewing your site in this
   case anyhow.
 * Did you mess with the categories in the database? …
 * I usually see strange category behaviour when records have been removed from 
   the WordPress database using a less standard method, such as direct removal via
   phpmyadmin.

 * My apologies for not putting that notice in my link, I generally do but I think
   I was tired and frustrated last night.
 * Yes, I messed with the database cats. Renamed them from wp for security reasons.
   I’m thinking I should reinstall wp and see what happens -))
