    Hi,

first of all thanks for this plugin, it was really what I was looking for…

unfortunately I am trying to apply the plugin with the following filters:

    post_type
    category

I was expecting that by selecting the post_type I would then get all the categories for that post type, but this doesn’t work. It looks like the category filter is picking up only the categories for the standard post type…

if you could fix that this plugin is going to become a classic for me 🙂

    ciao

btw, I tried the “search” filter and it seems to have the same issue, it only looks at standard post types…

Hi itibook, thank you for the notice. I will take a look at this.

Luca, you have looked at it correctly: the category filter includes only categories you can find under “Posts” => “Categories” in the backend. Lets call them the “normal WP categories”.

All other categories are parts of custom taxonomies invented by the coders. It is not possible to find out which unknown custom taxonomy is used as a category. It could be also part of custom tags, a new post type or whatever.

So now you can search only in “normal WP categories”. The same is for “normal WP tags”.

But your question gave me an idea of a new filter, lets call it “Custom Taxonomy Filter”. This filter will enable you to search for posts of all other categories, tags etc. which are not “normal WP” term groups.

I will implement this filter in the next time and will inform you here.

Luca, in the new version 3.0 you can search for “non-normal WP categories” with the “Custom Taxonomies Filter”.

I hope you find it useful.

So I mark this as resolved

    Hi Hinjiriyo,

apologies for the delay, haven’t had the time to test it yet, but I believe you tried on your side 🙂

as soon as I can test it on my side I will let you know the results… thanks for this, really appreciated

    ciao
