Categories Not Appearing

    This is likely WordPress 101, but I have set up several Categories, but they are not appearing on the site. I cannot find where it shows how to change the code to make them appear or other method. I am using the Sliding Door theme, and also want the Images to link to the Categories (that is what they are supposed to do, i.e., cat1, cat2, etc). So…

    How do I set up my Categories so that they appear on the website?

    Are there posts in the categories? If not, that is the issue. If there are posts Than I am not sure can you post a link.

    Then I must be able to add a post without it appearing on the site. Where can I add that post to the category? Thanks for your help!

    For other dummies like me, go to Post > Add New > Check the box in the appropriate Category at lower right (on my page anyway).
