Categories in pages, have I done it wrong?
-
Hi Folks..
I hope you are well and looking forward to Xmas.
http://www.eossolarsolutions.co.uk
I think I have built my website a little wrong so a little advice would be good.I have put page links across the top of the top of the site and built pages with categories all basically stacked on top of each other to separate the power of each solar panel for example and this is my selling page…. A bit like tables in old HTML (I am old)
Look at for example
http://www.eossolarsolutions.co.uk/solar-panels/But now I find that my all products button (shop) then has no good text and as I watch Yoast video’s I am starting to feel I have it all wrong…
Have I?
Do I re-do the categories, put them at the top on the menu and well, maybe start again.Sorry
Thank You

Hi @eossolar,
Thanks for getting in touch.
It looks like you’re seeking some tips and help on sorting out your store’s navigation.
Navigation is one element of a store’s design that requires careful consideration, so you might consider checking out these tips on how you can get every link placed properly – https://woocommerce.com/posts/getting-started-navigation/.
There are also other useful articles on https://woocommerce.com/blog/ from which you can draw inspiration to improve the usability of your website.
Cheers.
Thank you for the reply.
The tips are great and I will make some changes. My main question is more about how I have built the actual page with products on it.
On my top navigation the link is to a “page”…
Then the “page” is made up with categories within its structure…
Up to 3 categories. Is this ok? Or correct?
Thank You

Hello there,
My main question is more about how I have built the actual page with products on it.
* You can consider implementing more customization to your site, as explained below:
https://woocommerce.com/posts/how-to-customize-your-online-store-with-woocommerce-blocks/* You can use a plugin to organize the way you are showing the products to your customers:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-layouts/I hope this provides clarity.
Hi Both
