Categories htaccess rehashed

  • So I’ve got it working with php5, apache2, and mysql4.1 (don’t ask, it wasn’t fun). Anyhow, I have a quick question about htaccess and the categories… if this might be a problem with my upversioning all of the backends, the location of the code would be fine… but where does it do the work for category permalinks because category_name=whatever doesn’t work. I’ve got my htaccess set up correctly, but the categories don’t work. For instance, http://smokejumper.princeton.edu/index.php?category_name=general doesn’t work. Does anyone know where the code resides?
    Thanks.

Hm… It’s making the query correctly with the above url… so $cat gets set correctly, but I don’t see it ever get used again… any ideas?

sorry to bring up troubling memories, (you said not to ask but I’m a bastard so I will), how did you get past the php-segfaulting-on-login problem, plus the “Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in…” when on the 3rd step of the installation.. or the upgrade.. etc
    whew. let alone categories 🙁

I would also like to know how you pulled the miracle of getting past those two errors.
