# Categories deleted?!

 * I was just writing a blog post when I realized that all of my posts no longer
   are categorized or tagged. So I checked to see if my categories were still there…
   they were. But then I refreshed and they were all gone.
 * Why did this happen?! I didn’t delete anything!

 * You may need to repair the database.
 * Access your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this
   in their control panel), check all of the tables, and choose “Repair tables” 
   from the pull-down menu.

 * it happened to my blog also.
    all categories are deleted automatically. repair
   does not help. using 3.0.1 my bolg is at jobs.anomsoft.com

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

 * thanks for reply.
    I have tried this but nothing happens.
 * I had installed postie plugin, on that day, created categories and tested postie
   with multiple cateogries. it was working fine.
    after a week, I checked again,
   and found :posts after that day are not shown,even they are in db, these posts
   were created by postie.. :categories I created on that day not shown, could not
   verify db as I do not know which table to check for categories, :postie plugin
   removed automatically. no longer seen in admin. maybe I could check if its files
   are still there..

 * Same problem happened to me. Any ideas on the cause of this would be awesome.
   I tried repairing the database and disabling all plugins. I did not update any
   plugin or change any code or add any plugin on the day that this happened.

 * Alecuf, mine suddenly started working again maybe a day later. I don’t know whether
   it was a delayed result of the database repair or not.
