Categories (count) alignment in sidebar

  • I’m modifying/testing a new theme for my site and I know I ran into this problem in the past, and someone here helped me out, but I can’t remember the solution… so here goes again 🙂

    My current theme is at http://www.avalon5.com
    My test theme is at http://www.avalon5.com/wptest

    I’m trying to get the categories count (in brackets) to display on the same line as the category title, but for some reason it doesn’t (in my new test theme). I think it’s a CSS thing but I can’t remember the fix. Can anyone point me at the fix please? Thanks in advance.

  • I’m using the following code:-

    <?php wp_list_categories('orderby=name&dshow_count=1'); ?>

    but it’s not behaving the way it should. All I want to do is display the count per category on the same line. I’ve checked the support forum for previous posts and solutions but nothing there seems to work.

    Any suggestions?

    There was a post about this just before yours at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/104697.

    BTW, I really like your new design.

    jwurster – I did check that other post, but the documentation for 2.1 says that wp-list-cats has been deprecated, so I need to get this working with wp_list_categories()

    Any suggestions?

    I was hesitating upgrading to WP2.1 with all the issues I’ve read about. But after reading your success, I’ll upgrade and see what happens. Then I can enjoy all the things that have changed.
