Categorie buttons show as bullets and do not work

Using the Portfolio Gallery Pro version the categories are showing up as bullets and not as buttons and are not functional. If I show the sorting buttons, they show up as bullets also, but at least they work (sort the gallery images. I am using the Blocks Toggle Up/Down option.

I noticed another similar post that was resolved by eliminating / in the category names. So I removed the / in category names. Still do not show as buttons or work.
