This CSS should undo it.
.category {
font-style: normal;
}
To add CSS: If you are using WordPress 4.7, use the “Custom CSS” option in the customizer. If your theme has a custom CSS option, use that to add the CSS shown above. If not, install the plugin Simple Custom CSS. Or, if you have Jetpack installed, enable its Custom CSS module.

Thank you much @sterndata. Your CSS Addition appears to have solved the problem.
So @sterndata I realized we were having one other problem with our site newandimproved.tk. In the category pages, the font is different for things like Latest and post tags. I checked the element inspector, and it says inherit everywhere for font. I tried manually setting the font in the additional CSS by doing .category {
font: (for example, sans-serif);
}
and that didn’t work.
This problem doesn’t occur on the home page or article pages. If you could give some advice, that would be great.
Thank you,
Alex
font
is not a valid bit of CSS.
I don’t see any italics. Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.
@sterndata
So nothing is in italics, the font just changes across newandimproved.tk and http://newandimproved.tk/?cat=5. If you look, you will see that the font has changed for the Lastest bar and for post tags.
Thank you,
Alex
Please give me an annotated screen shot circling what you want changed and how you want it changed. thx.
