For some reason, with WP 3.9.2, instead of the Catablog gallery images showing, I’m getting something like the following for all the categories I have set up:

    `[catablog category=”My Gallery” template=”gallery sort=”order” order=”desc”]

We have a number of galleries and they are all showing only the code.

    The site is: http://www.tidechange.ca

Is there a fix for this?

  • Hi gsgltd can you try the following shortcode.

    [catablog category="My Gallery" template="gallery" order="desc"]

Also you can check this URL and focus on point 12.

In your shortcode above you left out the ” after template=”gallery and you set the sort=”order” what order are you referring too?

Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

    Thanks for your reply.

I noticed that the ” was missing after gallery, but since this code and page hasn’t been edited in years – and worked fine until very recently, the error could not have been there before.

As to the order – this dictates how the images are shown, in this case, last posted at top of gallery. This has not changed in years either. I checked other galleries on the site, and none are working. Most just use a short category code, now visible.

I tried different configurations of the code, as suggested, but that hasn’t fixed the problem.

It appears that custom field inserts are also malfunctioning. The only thing showing is [HTML1] etc.

This would seem to be a WP problem, rather than a plug-in issue.

    Any suggestions?

Hi gsgltd can you deactivate all your plugins and only leave this one and see if the code works? Of course making sure that your code is free from errors as I mentioned above.

If the above does not make any difference can you change the theme to one of WordPress themes like Twenty Fourteen or Thirteen.

Let me know how you go.

    Thank you

PS I have this plugin installed in a couple of my clients website running WordPress 3.9.2 without any problems.

    Thanks.

Yes, I will fix any errors. Haven’t spotted any others.

I’ll try deactivating, but reverting to a generic theme is not an option because of the complexity of our site.

I checked the support forums under “error” and it seems as if a lot of plug-ins are having this issue, and others are having the custom fields problem as well.

Looks to me like a problem in how html manifests. Could it be a theme problem?

Hi in regards to your question…

Could it be a theme problem?

There are couple of checking you can carry out.

    • Is the theme up to date?
    • Is the theme compatible with WordPress 3.9.2?
    • Are your plugins up to date and compatible with WordPress 3.9.2?

I hope the above gives you some insight.

Let me know how you go.

    Regards

Hi gsgltd, have you being able to resolve your issue?

Yes, thanks. The new WP update resolved all outstanding issues.

Hi gsgltd, that is good news 🙂 Could you mark this support thread as resolved.

I would also like to ask one more request 😉 if you are using WordPress 4.0 could you mark on the front that it is compatible with WordPress 4.0. This is important for other users and @zach the plugin developer.

    Thank you

Sorry – now marked as resolved. Not sure what you mean by “mark on the front”. Please explain.

    Thanks.

Hi gsgltd thank you for marking this as resolved 🙂

If you click on Description tab you will see on the right hand side the following headings.

    Requires:
    Compatible up to:
    Last Updated:
    Downloads:
    Ratings
    My Rating
    Author
    Support
    Compatibility

If you are running WordPress 4.0 can you also state under Compatibility heading that it is compatible with WordPress 4.0.

This is important for other users and @zach the plugin developer.

    Thank you
