Cartoonists desperately need new plugin to break Google new frames! (3 posts)

    I wondered why my stats dropped so drastically on my blogs the last 3 days - just started a new theme, wondered if that was the problem.

    It wasn't. Google just started a new way to hurt image providers of all kinds - artists, cartoonists, photogs the most of course- by no longer serving the image on a separate page, but by embedding it, WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL SOURCE behind it. Now they have only a link on the side - after someone has lifted and stolen the original image, which we pay for on our servers - and they will never come through to our site. In addition, they continue to say "May be copyrighted", when copyright law guarantees that ALL images are automatically copyrighted.

    I've been using code for 9 years to break the frame, which is pretty simple, and there are also some plugins here to help. But I don't know how to break the new Google frame! :(

    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    if (top.location != self.location) top.location.replace(self.location);

    As it stands now, I'm going to disallow all Google imaging until I can find a way to break Google's stranglehold. You can see the new problem looking for any image under Google images. I'm so shocked at this total thievery.

    We need help!

  2. You can still click on the 'visit page' link, but realistically, people won't.

    *sigh* They're probably doing this to make things faster.

    People don't look for images to find text. They do it to take or use the images. They won't click through. All blogmasters will be hit hard by them stealing all this traffic.

    I've been looking all around at seo and webmaster sites, and stats are down all over, from about 30% to 50%. I didn't realize that Google actually had the nerve to claim click throughs will go UP from this change.
