# CartoDB – API Key

 * Hello, we’ve been using CartoDB up until now, but unfortunately, the system has
   been updated so that an API key is now required. However, there is no field in
   the plugin to enter this key—would it be possible to add one?

 * We have added an option in the plugin backend to enter the **CARTO DB API key**,
   so CARTO maps can continue to work with their updated API requirements.
 * The updated version is ready and will be released **today or tomorrow**.
