Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Carefully crafted… with enormous blind spots.

  • It’s stable and has plenty of options. But they missed some basics.

It’s also needlessly hard to get along with. Most annoying, there’s no option to duplicate events, and support are like, “No way to do that, sorry.”

Recurring events require PRO, which is needlessly costly, subscription only.

You’re pretty stuck with featured image sizes, too. Theme doesn’t get along with the sizes chosen by the friendly dictators at Modern Tribe? Too bad.

Plugins that work on post pages don’t work on events. Events are special.

My advice is to stay away. It’s tempting as an amateur to use the free version, but after a while it becomes costly and limiting.

Thanks for your feedback @michaelwmahoney, and I’m so sorry to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations.

You’re right, we don’t have the option to duplicate events easily through our plugin, but many users have had luck doing so with the help of a third-party plugin.

As far as featured image size goes, you can easily make this change by doing a template override and changing the featured image size there. You can read more about that here:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/featured-images/#Customizing_the_featured_image_size

Please let me know if that helps and if there’s any way we can assist you further!
