  • I’d like to use captions on the home screen images of Graph Paper Press’ Fullscreen theme; any suggestions?

    Here’s my site:

    And here’s what I’m looking at on the stylesheet:

    /* Home Thumbs & Nav*/
    .home-thumbs { margin-top: 0; padding: 0; overflow: auto; left: 0; -moz-scrollbars:none; position: absolute; width: 1366px}
    .bottom-thumbs {position: absolute; top: 368px; left:0;}
    .thumbs {  }
    ul.thumbs { width: 1366px; list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; position:relative; top:0; left:0; right:1366px }
    ul.thumbs li { float: left; width: 273px; height:273px; margin:0; overflow:hidden; }
    ul.thumbs li.thumb-big { float: left; width: 124px; height:124px; margin:0; overflow:hidden; }
    ul.thumbs li img.attachment-thumbnail { margin:0 } .wp-caption .wp-caption-text { margin: 0; padding: 5px; }
    ul.thumbs li.thumb-end {margin-top:144px}

    I reckon I need to do make adjustments on lines 6 and 7 above, the ones that refer to the home screen tiles, but I’m not sure what they are.

  • unfortunately, your theme is not one of the free downloadable ones from here, but only for registered members, and is therefore not supported by this forum.

    please contact graphpaperpress directly for support.

    Are you sure, alchymyth? There are 157 threads in this forum about just this theme (and another 538 regarding other GraphPaperPress themes):

    In any case this is a FREE theme provided by GraphPaperPress.

    I’ve just checked and I can’t find your theme within the WordPress theme repository.

    Yes, it’s not. But… is this policy? Where is it written? I’ve just checked in forum FAQ and couldn’t find it.

    We’re being particularly picky because your theme isn’t actually free as the vendors claim. You have to give them your details, which does profit them.

    I fail to follow your argument, Andrew. Profit equates cost?? As you can see by the link I posted, I’m promoting a film festival. We promote it by handing out branded bookmarks to bookstores. Obviously the promotion profits the Festival, but just as obviously they are free.

    You are being picky, Andrew. And wrong.

    Sorry, if a theme isn’t actually free then it is under the ‘commercial’ category and therefore discounted from the support provided by forums.

    Generally we follow the rule that if the theme isn’t on’s theme repository, then it is not supported by forums. It’s the same for plugins too.

    If you have a query regarding one of the themes distributed on, let us know.

    @wisdomtooh Please give this a read.

    If you want the crib notes version then please jump to this part.

    Which clearly contains the following verbiage.

    Commercial Products

    If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.

    Free themes from other sources besides here are considered commercial. They just do not happen to cost you anything to download them. Those theme providers still earn income from their support model and we’re not going to interfere with that here.

    If you or anyone want support for a Graph Paper Press theme including free ones that are not hosted in the WordPress theme repository then you need to visit their support forum and obtain support from them.
