you used the shortcode to insert the image credits in your post, I suggest you select the option to automatically insert the credits with image caption on the option page, make sure the image actually has a caption and insert the image in the post with its caption. If you do that the plugin will automatically add the credits (using the template you provided) just after he caption under the image
Hi Claude,
Thank you so much for the prompt reply! Just wanted to clarify that I have not added the code on the image page or on the post page. The caption is coming automatically from the settings page of better image. The auto caption is checked. Even after adding a caption it is not showing up on under the image. So i started fiddling with the below code.
For some reason while typing the above first post it removed the code so sending you the code again, in the actual code there are no extra spaces between the [] Unfortunately i cannot attach a screenshot of the settings page here…
Below is the code on the settings page in the template field.
a href=”[ link ]” target=”_blank” [source],/a [ title ]
If I change this above code to either
[ caption ] a href=”[ link ]” target=”_blank” [ source ] /a
OR
[ title ] a href=” [ link ]” target=”_blank” [ source ] /a
(have removed the “<” so that it shows you the entire code.}
they are not working… its giving the title/caption between the image credits.
hope this helps!

[caption] is not a keyword for the template so it won’t work but it’s possible that your theme is causing the trouble. You can use Dropbox or a similar service to share your screenshots and put the links here.
Please take a screenshot of the post in edit mode with HTML tab active and a screenshot of the plugin’s option page
Hi,
Please check on this link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2m8p9p6knwq56od/AADJrQ6P0cdQeI_EN7m8EnbZa?dl=0
if you need any other images let me know.
Many thanks

it’s probably linked to the Divi builder, can you take a screenshot of the post in normal edit mode with the default editor’s HTML view so I can see the shortcodes?
I have added two files for you in the folder please see. For some reason it was not showing any shortcode when viewing it in default editor setting, so I have copy/pasted the html source code in text doc then again pasted that in the WP page. So the shotcodes then were visible. Its almost looking like the original article except for some indentations… hope this helps.
ok, the credits are showing because you checked the “before the content” in the plugin’s option page, it doesn’t show with the caption below the image because that image is not inserted in the post using the [caption] shortcode. For that part to work you need to insert the image inside the post.
Right now the image is the featured image for the post and your theme put it there but it doesn’t use the [caption] shortcode (which is used when you manually insert the image in the post), so the caption is not there because your theme won’t put it and since the plugin uses that [caption] shortcode to insert the credits after the caption they don’t show up there either (they would appear twice otherwise)
Ok, so I do need it to be the featured image since it needs to show up on the category page for the other articles. Is there a work around for it to show the caption for the featured image? I have added the caption in the title space because that is showing up, I just need to be before the image credit and not after.
I think you can try using the [caption] shortcode directly without adding the image inside: https://codex.wordpress.org/Caption_Shortcodea
you will need to uncheck the “before the content” option in the plugin’s option page otherwise the credits will show twice (plus it would show the credits available for all the pictures with credit on the page, not just the the one for the featured image)
