# Caption problem in 3.0

 * Hmmm very odd.
 * Just upgraded a brand new site (not “launched” yet so can’t link).
 * Since upgrading if I try to add a Caption to an image it loses it’s alignment
   and the caption does not appear.
 * If I go back to edit the photo again from within the edit window there’s no caption
   there but the alignment radio button is unticked. If I tick that again – then
   the alignment is correct. Soon as I try to re-add a caption the alignment disappears…
 * Any suggestions!

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the available memory?

 * Thanks for responding.
 * I’ve tried all of those except for fiddling with the memory – there’s only about
   8 pages and one post so surely can’t be that can it? This is using a host that
   I use a lot for WP sites – most of which are a lot bigger. No unusual plugins
   that I haven’t used before either.
