Caption or Image Attribution Support?

  • Hey there,

First off, thanks for the exceptional plugin. I just wanted to offer a quick suggestion I thought might be simple/useful. I’ve been doing a bit of research on trying to find a free slider plugin that supports captions or image attribution in any way (an often overlooked “should” of using the many Creative Commons images we all tend to). Surprisingly, the options out there are nigh zippo.

Any chance you might include something that allows for this in a future release? Maybe a tickbox which toggles the images caption data on or off in a tidy small form below the image in the slider? Or just another small caption field that might could be used instead of the post excerpt? Really anything that could get image attribution in on our homepages close to the images used would be fantastic and I think could help the plugin stand out even more.

And of course, in the meantime, if you had any suggestions on how we could edit this in to the current version… well that’d just be lovely. 🙂

    Hi Josh,

That’s not a bad idea, though I would most likely save it for the upcoming pro version of the slider. The main issue that I can think of is how it would restructure the design of the slider, meaning it would be another thing that people would have to edit to fit their site.

My thought is, if you aren’t using the caption part of the slider, toggle that on and make slides specifically with credit info listed. Then style the captions to look how you’d like in CSS.

    Thanks for using the plugin!
    David
