First of all W3 Total Cache is a great plugin but at the same time very challenging to set up. Many run into all sorts of issues and many times they blame the plugin. But to tell you the truth in many cases it is the user that does not know well how to set up this very powerful cache plugin. However, ones you have this plugin set up correctly it works great. The other factor to also consider can be conflicts between plugins and or themes. * So, when running into an issue like the one you describe above you first need to carry out a process of elimination. Once that is achieved then you will know what the actual issue is. * Let me know if you need more help.
