Captcha causes page to not load on local site install

    I’m working on a major update to a site for my wife on a local install of the site on my macbook.

    With WP v4.1, Contact Form 7 v4.0.3 and Really Simple CAPTCHA v1.8.0.1 any form with a captcha in it causes the ‘entry-content’ div to be empty.

    If I disable the captcha plugin then the form comes up fine apart from the warning that Really Simple CAPTCHA is not installed or disabled.

    What is missing from m,y local setup?

    I’m on OSX 10.10.1 running stock apache and php for this version of OSX.
