Support » Fixing WordPress » Capitalization in post title problems after 3.0 upgrade

  • First, I apologize if I’ve missed the answer to this question – I promise, I used the best search terms I could come up with, and I flipped through dozens of pages on the forums, but I couldn’t find anything, so if I’ve been an idiot, I’m sorry for having been an idiot.

I first noticed these capitalization issues when I tried to use someone’s initials – JC – in one of my post titles. In the editor, all looked as it should. But when I published the post, it came out as “Jc.” I know most people’s problems are way less trivial than this one, but it drives me crazy when I can’t figure these things out, so I had to ask.

Upon further observation, I noticed that ALL my post titles had been changed So That Most Words Were Capitalized “save” For A Few (random) Lower-Case Letters Apparently Distributed Without A Discernible Pattern. So, everything looks totally different than the way I wrote it, and it’s creepy looking at “my” posts all titled by some alternate-universe devil version of myself. Or maybe just a devil WP upgrade. I just want to know why this is happening and how (if) I can make things look the way I want them, like I’ve done ever since I started using WP five years ago. I know it’s kind of a stupid thing to get upset about, but language and punctuation/writing style are pretty important to me – and while I don’t care if I (or anyone else) writes things the “wrong” way, I DO care about whether or not my particular variation of “wrong” on a given post gets changed without my knowledge and out of my control.

http://www.airlocked.org is where the trouble’s at, if that helps.
