Support » Fixing WordPress » Capital letter and parenthesis

  • Hello,

    It seems that using a capital letter + parenthesis like
    =DEFINTION(this is my definition)
    will make disapear the text.

    As I have to deal with excel formulas, like
    =DATE(ETC())

    I need to get rid of this function. Generally very usefull, but annoying for me.

    Thank you for any help

  • If this is happening in posts, what text formatting plugins do you use? If any, try deactivating it/them to see if it solves the issue.

    Textile was at the origin of this functionnality.
    I deactivated it and it works well.

    Thanks for your answer

    Yeah, Textile has an “acronym” feature which assumes the acronyms will be listed like: AFAIK(As Far As I Know)

    The solution is to use “==” to tell Textile to ignore that content:

    ===DATE(ETC())==
