 * I need to give an author the ability to change their password, but “Your Profile”
   isn’t visible.
 * What capability allows editing of “Your Profile”?

 * Hi,
 * WordPress by default shows ‘Your Profile’ admin menu item to any logged-in user
   with ‘read’ capability, including user with ‘author’ role.
    Some other plugin
   or custom code from theme’s functions.php file may be involved.

 * I thought “Read” applied to the page and post list pages, and didn’t realize 
   it applied to the sidebar with Profile. All set!
