• Hi there! I’ve recently re-installed the new version of WordPress because of a database problem. Now that everything’s up and running again, I faced a problem that I didn’t have before. When I click on “Comments” in order to leave a comment for a post, it gets me to the actual post, with no ‘comment form” at the bottom for me to fill in. I am using the latest wordpress version (as of 24.07.05) and the theme I am using came with just an “image folder”, the “CSS file” and an index.php file to replace the default one. I’m not really good at php so I didn’t dare fooling around with it too much. My webpage is at http://blog.alexlimoges.com
Any help would be much appreciated, thanx!

  • Sounds like your theme is incomplete to me, or it is actually just a style for the older versions. I would suggest finding a new theme. Where did you find that one and what was it called?

It’s called ”fleur de lys” et can be found at http://wpthemes.info/posts/2004/12/20/fleur-de-lys-blue-version/
    any suggestion?

That is for WP 1.2. You need to find out if it was ever made into a 1.5 theme, or just choose a new theme. Unless you want to try converting it yourself, of course…

I’d noticed it was for WP 1.2, but I thought comments wouldn’t have anything to do with that. I’ll try giving it a shot with this tutorial…thanks 😉
But I’m sure it’s stupid because many others posts have been published on this forum where users were experiencing the same exact thing. However, all the solutions to their problem was either not included, or did not fit my WP installation.

They too did not follow the upgrade tutorial word-for-word. Pay extra special attention to step 6 under “Upgrading Old Templates – Easy”.

I also cannot write comments. i cut off most of the plugins and it still brings me back to the post. i dont have any restrictions in the options page except that they have to be registered to leave one. It was working before.
What do i need to do?
