its that theme, comments on pages arent included.

Strange that this being the default theme, a user could access all the bells and whistles.

I may be wrong, but i think in earlier versions of wordpress, comments werent allowed on pages. maybe the default theme just never got changed to include it.
Comments on “Pages” aren’t typical but would be accommodated on the theme level. But I must ask, why would you want to allow comments of your about page? It’s not typical because it would be a strange practice (IMO).

All right, works well in the WP classic theme. I like the simple looks of it and was wondering if I could make it into a fixed width (800px) page.
Comments on pages are useful for a few things; personal ads, comments and/or on a particular subject (in a page, not a post), etc.
Is there code which can be inserted in any theme which would allow for comments?

Problem solved, only had to insert the <?php comments_template(); ?> function in my single.php file.

Hi,
I just did a fresh WP install and the only plugin I’ve activated is Akismet.
Is it normal NOT to have comments on pages (About, for example) even though comments are enabled? Is there a “workaround”?
I’m using the default theme and single.php is there.
Funny, I’m also using B2Evolution and it does have the comment box in static pages.
