• So, i can use styles but not classes from css in the editor. Im not sure if this is an optimizer theme issue or a core wordpress editor issue.

At first, i didn’t really care, but as i’ve started to add more and more customization with styles rather than classes, it appears the loading of my site is beginning to slow down. Using styles over classes also makes my text more of a hassle to sort through.

Would a fix be as simple as using a different text editor plugin for wordpress?

Ideally, i would like to be able to use basic css tags in my editor. I realize these editors now have wysiwyg function, but im beginning to realize that i’d rather edit in a basic format that doesn’t mess with my code spacing or anything and then use the WYSIWYG to see the presentation.

  • have you tried switching between the text/visual editor?

of course. when i switch between, the code i insert in the text side disappears when i use a class.

it will only stay if i spell out a style, but it trying to use a class doesn’t work at all. I really don’t like these text editors that have WYSIWYG style stuff built into it.

a plain text editor should be a plain text editor and thats it. for me at least.

@addaminsane Are you sure you adding the class correctly? Can you share the code through hastebin.com ? also try disabling all the plugins and see if that changes anything.

    Regards
