Can't upload photos at all…even without the use of "Add From Server"

Hello all, new here. I recently came over from a long time with Blogger as I preferred the better control over my editing environment. After starting off with the free version of wordpress through the wordpress.com, I loved it so much I decided to move it over to my hosting company (godaddy.com) and run it there. I imported what files I could from my “old” wordpress site to the new one (via the import function within WP), changed my template to a nice shiny “premium” template that I paid for (GeneratePress) and thought I was good to go. So, I’ve been trying for days to import images into my media library so that I could resume blogging and had “http errors” (I have screen shots links below). Having become so frustrated with that and searching the help database, I discovered “Add From Server” and thought my problems were solved…sadly no. I tried importing the images and kept getting errors, or nothing would happen at all. I even tried compressing my images thinking that they may be too bog (from 5MB down to around 2MB) and still…errors. See screenshots for better clarification.

I’m at my wits end. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
