Hello, I would like to upload jpg file via media uploader of WordPress administration. I got a message that I can’t upload but any other kind of picture media files are allowed. I looked after attribution of uploads folder in FTP software but 755 must be fine but I tried with 777 as well. I do not know what to do… Do you have any ideas?

  • Hi,

Is it happening with all the JPG files or just this one? 🙂

I tried with several jpg files and the result was the same.

Could you post your .htaccess file here? And could you try to disable your plugin to see if anyone is causing this issue? 🙂

This is my .htaccess. There is an extra blank row at the end of my file. Is this problem?

    DELETED TEXT

I disabled plugins and it works. So do I have to find which plugin affects to my jpg files? And that why it is only to jpg.

    Hi,

Well, if it’s due to plugins then we don’t need the .htaccess file. So yes, you should reactivate all the plugins one by one to see which one is causing it. If you find the plugin then you can try to look at its settings to see if there’s an option which could be causing this behavior, else you will have to not use it anymore.

And don’t forget to mark this thread as resolved if it works. 🙂

Okay I found it. It was enhanced media library the plugin. Thank you for your kind help. Fortunately we don’t use this plugin. So I can delete it as well.

I’m glad to know that you were able to find this issue. Have a great weekend. 🙂

    Hi all,

Enhanced Media Library allows to manage file types allowed for upload. If you weren’t able to upload a specific file type like JPG it means it was disallowed with plugin’s settings. It is a feature of the plugin.
