    Hi.

    I’m running the latest version of Elementor Pro (3.1.0) and Yoast SEO (15.8 – free version) and WordPress 5.6.1. The site is hosted at Kinsta.

    When Yoast is active I can’t upload images when editing templates with Elementor (uploading images when editing a page directly works fine). If I deactivate Yoast everything works perfect.

    The error shows as if the image is too large for WordPress to handle (which it is not).

    It’s the same problem as mentioned here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/yoast-with-elementor-cannot-upload-image/

    I have contacted Elementor and they wrote to following:

    “I want to share with you that I was able to reproduce the issue within the Theme Builder when Yoast SEO is activated.

    As the issue only occurs when Yoast is activated, this means there might be a conflict with the third-party plugin.

    In this regard, as much as I would love to help you, please note we can’t provide support in relation to third-party plugins/themes given that we do not have any control over them and cannot guarantee they will be fully compatible with Elementor.

    In this case, as we have no control over coding for third-party plugins nor themes, we highly recommend that you report this issue to the support team for this plugin so they may further troubleshoot and provide any recommendation (or possible fix) to resolve this issue: https://yoast.com/help/support/

    If they need help from us, they can open an issue on our Github account (https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues) and our developers will be happy to assist.”

    Is it a compatibility between Elementor and Yoast?

  • I am experiencing the exact same problem and had to deactivate yoast, upload them, add them into the template and then reactivate yoast.

    @lskov

    Can you elaborate more on how you editing the template? Did you insert the template into an Elementor page and then go to add images?

    OR did you somehow edit the template before inserting it? Are you trying to design a template in Elementor and when you go to add images are getting errors?

    If so, we would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm your server has all the right requirements?  If you are not sure, speak to your host provider. They may need to increase the PHP memory by doubling or tripling it. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/plugin-requirements/.

    2. Can you elaborate more on how you edit templates before inserting them into Elementor? We ask as we are familiar with Elementor. Screenshots of how you go about doing this would be helpful.

    You can use a tool like: https://imgbb.com/ to share the image.

    Hi @pcosta88

    I created a header-template to be used on all pages and edited it.
    After creating the header-template I added items like menus, search icons etc. When I tried to add the logo (using the site-logo) the error showed up. Then i tried adding a normal image and got the same error. This happens on all templates like my footer template, templates for certain post-types etc.

    To your other questions:

    1. The site runs with 256MB PHP-memory and 256MB for WP_MEMORY_LIMIT

    2. I don’t insert the templates into pages so to say. I added them through Elementors conditional logic (https://ibb.co/Gt6KmYB – danish, sorry)

    The console error: https://ibb.co/T0cRhVc (the domain is hidden – hope that’s ok)
    The error in the frontend: https://ibb.co/kGwmLF4 (sorry, it’s danish)

    Feel free to let me know if you need more information – or access to the site.

    @lskov

    Thank you so much for those screenshots! We were able to reproduce the issue.

    Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our plugin. An issue report is currently open with our development team for this issue.

    The only workaround is to deactivate Yoast (doing so is not going to impact the SEO of the site provided it is brief).

    In the meantime, we suggest signing up for our newsletter as that is where we will announce product changes and updates. You may sign-up for it here https://yoast.com/ by scrolling towards the bottom to complete the sign-up field.

    There is another workaround.
    You can upload all images directly from the Media Library and then choose the images, when editing a template using Elementor. This way you don’t need to disable yoast.
