• This week I’ve been at Starbucks, using their t-mobile hotspot service, and trying to edit my blog.

It has worked from my home at other times, so the problem is only occurring when I’m logged on here at Starbucks.

When I try to create a new post, and upload an image, I go through the process of selecting the image and hitting upload, and then instead of the image appearing, the entire part of the page turns into a mini version of my home page (which is the redirect from a 404). If I try to save/publish, the same error sorta happens. The post isn’t saved, or published, I just end up at the main screen, a redirect from http://www.portigal.com/wp/wp-admin/post.php

Why won’t this work when I’m logged on here?

    Thanks?!

  • Not to smart a@# or anything but if it doesn’t work at starbucks it has something to do with their proxy and there nothing you can do about it but not try to post in starbucks.

I guess I don’t know what you mean “something to do with their proxy”

Most public hot spots have it setup so that all traffic goes through one of their servers. So they can sometimes cache pages for multiple requests to help their bandwitdh. The biggest reason is so you have to pay to use their hot spot.

I’m staying at a hotel now and have been posting for a few days, suddenly this problem recurs. I had my colleague back home try to post and he had no problem. It’s pretty frustrating especially when it’s inconsistent. Why could I post the other day and not today! Grr.
