 * have you tried manually updating via [FTP or SFTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients)
   or whatever file management application your host provides

 * well, I haven’t but I was wondering if this is a glitch with wordpress? it will
   be pretty inconvenient to update every plugin this way.
