Can't Update From 4.0 to 4.3.1 or any Plugins

    Hello, I have been trying to update Word Press and all the plugins and get this error:

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.3.1-new-bundled.zip…

    Download failed.: error:0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message digest algorithm

    Installation Failed

    We are with Primus in Canada on Zeus servers and are running PHP Version 5.2.9-20090427.

    Anyone had a similar issue? Is there any way to tell if this is definitely a server side issue. Will there be any issue with updating manually?

    You should consider upgrading your version of php. Version 5.2.9 is unsupported and has many vulnerabilities. After that, I would try a manual update of WordPress with all plugins deactivated. It would also be useful to check you error logs.

    also make sure you follow the wordpress advice for upgrading across version numbers, 4.0 – 4.3 is a bit of jump and shouldn’t just be a press of the big shiny button! 😀
