Support » Plugin: GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform » Can’t update donation forms

  • Resolved medianaa

I just started using Give plugin for our animal shelter food bank. Donors pointed out, that goal bar does not show completed donations.

After deeper analysis I noticed that despite the fact that I make changes in already existing forms via admin panel they are not shown in the published forms. Only form name changes.
Updated and backed up everything possible.
    Please help.

This sounds like a plugin conflict of some kind. I’d recommend deactivating all plugins besides GIVE. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.

You can do all of that now without affecting your live site visitors with the free Health Check plugin. See here:

If after deactivating all other plugins it still does not work correctly, then tell us where we can get a copy of your theme to test.

    Thank you for your response.

I tested all plugins and it seems that qTranslate X ( causes these problems. Only after I activate this plugin Give freezes. Unfortunately, I can’t stop using this multilingual plugin now because all site falls to pieces as it is translated more or less to three languages.

Furthermore it seems that this plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

When we searched for multilingual plugin qTranslate seemed to fit our needs and wishes and is now used for longer than a year I believe.

So what should be my next step?

Hi @medianaa — I’m glad to hear you were able to isolate where the problem comes from. Generally speaking, WPML tends to be the plugin that most people use for multi-lingual sites, but I also understand it is not for everyone. I’ll look into replicating the problem you’re experiencing with qTranslate and Give and let you know if I find a workaround.

Hi @medianaa — I just installed qTranslate-X locally and tested with Give and did not encounter any issues at all. So it seems it is not a simple plugin conflict, but most likely something related to your unique configuration. It’s possible that you have A LOT of translations loading and that’s simply overloading your server.

Can you reach out to us via our contact form:

Use the option “You requested that I contact you here” and put this support thread URL in your message and ask for me and I’ll see what I can do from there.

    Hi Matt,

We receive a lot of donations offline through fundraisers. Is there any way we can change the donations goal bar? For example we got 56 donations. Can I change the online goals section to reflect this?

    It currently shows 6/100.

Any help on updating the goals section would be appreciated as we really want to show people how many donations we get.

@cshak I’m going on the assumption that your offline donations are not in your Give database. If you have or can get your offline donation data in a CSV format you should be able to import them into Give.

@cshak — you can add those donations manually via the Offline Donations gateway, or if you have them all in a spreadsheet, you can use our Importer. Here’s docs on that:
