That of course shouldn’t be happening. I’ve tested it here and it isn’t happening.
What version do you use? Also can you verify the other fields are being saved properly? And please post your OS and browser version.
I am using version 1.37 on WordPress 4.1.1. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, version 6.1.
I haven’t had any other problems with the button and I really love this plugin.
My browser is Firefox 37.0.1
I’m puzzled by this, since on my machine with the same combination everything seems to be working fine.
This problem occurs with only one button or with all buttons in your plugin?
You can try the usual solutions by deactivating the plugin, reinstall and activating it again to see if that helps.
However I would recommend to try out the beta version of our plugin ( https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/maxbuttons.zip ) since we’ll release that soon and under the hood we reworked a lot so, it might both solve your problem and get you set for the near future.

I am using only one button. I’d rather not uninstall it and start over with it, and since this is a minor issue, I’ll just leave it as it is.
