Support » Plugin: WP Mail SMTP by WPForms » Can’t uncheck “force from email”

  • Resolved OC2PS

I have set up the plugin to use Gmail SMTP and one of my alias (Group) email addresses. It works fine.

The issue is that I can’t uncheck the “force from” box. I would not want to force the from address as I’d want Contact Form 7 to decide what the from address should be based on the form being used.

    Hi @sooskriszta,

Thanks for reaching out. Gmail mailer does not allow to send emails from the custom from address so that is why the ‘Force From Email’ checkbox is disabled and greyed out. The Google account you’ve authorized or its aliases should be sending the emails. That is because the custom email address from the contact form will not be authenticated and there’s a chance of email getting filtered out if sent from an unauthenticated email address.

    I hope this helps!

So even though “force” is selected, the various CF7 contact forms would be able to send emails from various alias addresses?

    HI @sooskriszta,

Unfortunately, Gmail does not allow to send different emails from different aliases. All the emails from the site should be sent with the same sender’s address.
