Can't turn notifications on

    I’ve just added the plugin, gone to a group, gone to ‘Admin’ and tried to change the ‘Notify group members of changes via email’ setting to ‘Yes’.

    A message appears to say the group has been updated but the setting stays at ‘No’ and there is no ‘Email notifications’ tab.

    I have turned off Cloudflare caching and minification.
    I have tried different browsers and computers.
    I have cleared browser cache.
    I am using Buddypress 1.6.4.

    Any other ideas to help me troubleshoot?

    Hi Brimfulof,

    Sorry for the late reply.

    The “Notify group members of changes via email” option is not a setting that comes from the Group Email Suscription plugin.

    It’s a BuddyPress group option that doesn’t do too much and will probably be removed in a future version of BuddyPress:

    As for this plugin, you should be able to change a group’s email subscription options on a group’s settings page (Admin > Settings):
    example.com/groups/YOUR-GROUP/admin/group-settings

    Please don’t apologise, I really appreciate all the work you put in developing the plugins and supporting users.

    I’m going to update buddypress and the plugin to the latest versions and give this a go. Will report back shortly.

    Hmm, the options don’t seem to be appearing. I just see options about whether to make the group public, private or hidden.
    I switched to the buddypress default theme and some other options did appear, but these were just about who could invite other members. Not sure why my theme hides them, but that’s not the point of this thread.

    Hi Brimfulof,

    I have taken a look at your site and it appears that you do not have the Group Email Subscription plugin activated.

    The reason why I say this is I do not see the plugin’s stylesheet in the HTML source. If the plugin is activated, the plugin’s stylesheet should be added on every page.

    Can you check to see that the plugin is indeed activated? If it isn’t, can you try redownloading the plugin and activating it?

    Thanks very much for checking this out Ray. The plugin has been turned on, so I deleted it and re-downloaded and activated again and I’m still getting the same issue (nothing appearing). I checked the source and as you said there is no stylesheet for the plugin.
    I’m guessing it must be some clash with the theme or another plugin, so I’ll have to strip everything out and see what is causing it.
