Can you help me understand why Loco Translate doesn’t find those 2 strings?

Because “mbfp” is not the declared text domain of the plugin.

Your plugin declares its text domain as “mb-favorite-posts”, although it doesn’t seem to explicitly load this, so that might cause you more problems. I don’t know. Maybe its loaded from some other plugin. Or maybe it’s a mistake.

The plugin seems to load two other text domains “mb-settings-page” and “mb-user-profile”. If you need Loco Translate to accept these additional text domains you’ll have to manually configure them in the Advanced tab. See the documentation on adding translation subsets.

I have no idea how much of this is deliberate, but for $499 (really??) I’d expect some help from the developer with how they expect customers to translate their product. They may refer you to some other software in which case you should take their advice.

Generally I advise against WordPress users extracting strings from plugins that they did not create. If you know what you’re doing then fine. You should be able to extract all these text domains if you configure them, but whether “mbfp” is intentionally different is something only the developers can tell you.

    Hi @timwhitlock,

Thanks so much for the quick reply.
MB Favorite posts is a “solution” of Metabox (https://metabox.io/product-category/solutions/https://wordpress.org/plugins/meta-box/)
$499 is for the lifetime of everything they include (they don’t sell their solution alone because it’s just an extra of Metabox itself)
This solution is just a piece of cake added on top of the powerful custom post system they offer.

I have passed your reply with the plugin’s author @rilwis, I hope he can make his solution better with your helpful and detailed comment!

If the authors ship their plugin with a loco.xml file in the root then configuration will be automatic. I can help with this if they don’t know what to enter.
