Can’t sign in to Gravatar using WP.org account

    Tried signing up for Gravatar. Selected same nickname as I have on wordpress.org, got the error message. Followed the steps, tried simply signing in to Gravatar using my wp.org email addy + password. Reset password, tried again. No go. Want to keep my same nickname on Gravatar. What else can I try?

    your wordpress.org account here has no relationship to gravatar. However, there should be no reason you can’t create a gravatar account with the same email address you used when creating your account here at wordpress.org (the email address is the key).

    Gravatar.com accounts are linked to WordPress.com, not WordPress.org

    (I know i already replied to your support request, but this is public and might answer the same question for other people, so pardon my repeating it to you)

    … by email address. WP doesn’t really figure into the equation.

    I don’t have a WordPress.com account. I do have a gravatar. 🙂
