Support » Theme: Hestia » Can’t set Static Page as Home Page

    Everything was going fine. I could switch back and forth between the site and WordPress. Then suddenly (after making 100 changes), when I looked at the webpage, it was showing me the first blog page. I’m not using the blog, it’s just a one page site. I remember setting the Home Page to be “static page” instead of “blog”- somewhere. I assume that got changed somehow, but I can’t find that setting.

    I’ve been through all the options in Hestia customize and the regular options. Help says to choose Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings but there is no “Homepage Setting”. I can see in the documentation that the Pro version has a Static Page where that can be set, but that’s not an option in the free version.

    I found a post about going into the Theme Editor and changing the first line of the Homepage section to:

    <?php the_content();
    See: https://imgur.com/YnZHZly

    The rest of that section on my site is the same as the one above.
    That didn’t work.

    I’m using Site Offline, but that shouldn’t affect anything. I did notice that my one page is not saved in the usual “Pages” area of WordPress. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.

    Everything is updated. Cache cleared. Restarted. Tried on different browsers.
    Win 10, Firefox 83, Edge 87.0.664.47

    Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

    I figured out what was wrong. While I was cleaning up, I saw a Home page that I didn’t remember putting there. I deleted it. Turns out that you must have a page (mine was blank except for the name: Home) in order to access the menu that lets you make a site use a static page.
