# Can’t save settings, Console error

 * Hi Darko
 * I’ve installed this plugin today on my two WP 5.8.2 instances, both multisite
but with only 1 or 2 sites on them. The plugin says it is version 1.0.4. These
are on my own Windows 2019 server, which is otherwise all fine. Both domains
are on Cloudflare and are configured the same. Neither site uses a cache plugin(
   yet).
 * On one instance, I was able to whitelist my country code and then save settings.
I then also enabled network wide settings, clicked the Best for Backend button
and saved again. It appears to work and I can see login hacks being blocked…
   hurrah!
 * But on the other instance, I am unable to save any settings in the plugin. Any
button click generates the following console error: IP_LOCATION_BLOCK_AUTH is
   not defined at admin.min.js
 * I took it as far as disabling all plugins and also uninstalled and reinstalled
this one twice, but always the same result. I’ve now restored the instance from
backup and came here to report this.
 * There is another support request here with the same error:
 * That one says there will be a new release with a fix, but I can’t tell if that
has happened or if 1.0.4 is still the same one.
 * Thanks for any advice on this,
    Regards Rob

 * HI Darko, thanks for posting the fix.
 * I’ll just list exactly what I did on both WP instances.
 * I installed on the instance where it previously caused the error described and
it works now, so that’s a success.
 * I also upgraded the other instance that was working, but that gave me this error
alert: DataTables warning: table id=ip-location-block-statistics-cache – Ajax
error. For more information about this error, please see [https://datatables.net/tn/7](https://datatables.net/tn/7)
 * And I was also not able to update any settings as it kept saying: You do not
have sufficient permissions to access this page. This issue was new since I wrote
   the ticket.
 * So I uninstalled the plugin on that instance and reinstalled it. This time I
did not use the Best for Backend button in both instances and instead I just
enabled options manually. I did not enable any ‘Prevent zero day exploit’ options
and now both instances seem to be fine.
 * I saved the emergency login link for both and so hopefully it’ll all be good.
I can see ip’s being blocked on the login, which is what I wanted it to do.

   Thanks heaps for this! Rob

 * Hello Darko,
 * Same happens to me. I have only 1 site. I solved the problem (temporarily, I
hope) by uninstalling the plugin, reinstalling it BUT WITHOUT enabling “Prevent
One-day Exploit” on Admin area and Admin-Ajax/post options. IF enabled, these
options (even on a “clean” installation) would cause the before mentioned error,
preventing me from change configuration or doing anything else.
 * EDIT: The error happened to me AFTER the plugin was automatically updated form
version 1.0.4 to version 1.0.5. With version 1.0.4. everything was enabled and
   the plugin worked flawlessly.

 * I did as the same uninstall and reinstall making sure not to enable zero day
attacks on either option and was able to save and was not getting permission
or ajax data table errors. Thank you for posting [@di4n435](https://wordpress.org/support/users/di4n435/)
your solution assisted me in getting blocker back up and running. Thanks.

 * Hi Darko
 * I’ve upgraded to the 1.0.6 update and it crashed the website altogether. So I
restored to backup that never had the plugin installed.
 * The plugin is installed but now it gives me the original problem where it won’t
save any settings and the console reports: IP_LOCATION_BLOCK_AUTH is not defined
 * This instance did successfully load 1.0.5 yesterday – though it only worked with
   the zero-day stuff disabled.
 * I’ll restore from backup again now. Not sure what else I can tell you about it?

   Regards Rob
