Custom Post View Generator
Can't save post views or list views (4 posts)

I am using WordPress 3.4.2, running on IIS 7. I used the plugin Custom Content Type Manager to create a custom post type. When I go into CPT View Generator and try and create a post view or list view and hit save, it says "Layout Saved", but then nothing happens. I can't access that layout, it doesn't change the post view, it doesn't appear anywhere, and if I go back to the post type and same template, everything is blank.

    Anyone else having this problem?

First, please update to te lasted version 0.4.1 and if the problem still persists can you install firefox + firefbug for firefox, rightclick and select inspect element with firefox and see what error give on the firefox Console tab when you press the Save layout button ?

I updated to 0.4.2, which was the newest version by the time I got back from vacation. Unfortunately that did not work. I did as you suggested with Firebug and checked the results. No errors were reported. It showed this under the Post action:

    Parametersapplication/x-www-form-urlencoded
    action save_layout
    fields[0][hide_empty] false
    fields[0][label] Department
    fields[0][name] staff.Department
    fields[0][options1] no_modification
    fields[0][options2] no_modification
    fields[0][type] cpvg_text
    fields[1][hide_empty] false
    fields[1][label] Location
    fields[1][name] staff.Location
    fields[1][options1] no_modification
    fields[1][options2] no_modification
    fields[1][type] cpvg_text
    post_type staff
    template simple-list-1
    view_type post
    view_value staff
    Source
    action=save_layout&post_type=staff&view_type=post&view_value=staff&template=simple-list-1&fields%5B0%5D%5Bname%5D=staff.Department&fields%5B0%5D%5Blabel%5D=Department&fields%5B0%5D%5Btype%5D=cpvg_text&fields%5B0%5D%5Bhide_empty%5D=false&fields%5B0%5D%5Boptions1%5D=no_modification&fields%5B0%5D%5Boptions2%5D=no_modification&fields%5B1%5D%5Bname%5D=staff.Location&fields%5B1%5D%5Blabel%5D=Location&fields%5B1%5D%5Btype%5D=cpvg_text&fields%5B1%5D%5Bhide_empty%5D=false&fields%5B1%5D%5Boptions1%5D=no_modification&fields%5B1%5D%5Boptions2%5D=no_modification

    Response:

    Layout Saved.

It still did not work, however. Could this be related to the fact that I'm running this on IIS?

I never tested wish IIS so it might be useful you could test with other web server. However before that, please verify if you database has kind uncommon config that might cause problem and if the table wp_cpvg_post_views has any records.
