Can’t save or edit any tables
-
after the wordpress update, NONE of my table are editable which is very urgent problem since I need to update them daily. Any idea when we can get a fix?

this is kind of a disaster. Need a fix asap.
Same here. Using TablePress 1.11 and just upgraded to WP 5.5, and I’ve discovered that I can’t save any edits I make to table contents. I click the “Save Changes” button, but nothing happens. The changes show in the preview, but they don’t save.
Same here, TP 1.11 / WP 5.5
Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Now, for all these issues: I’m pretty sure that these are related to a change related to the jQuery JavaScript library in WordPress 5.5.
This leads to errors in some other plugins – but not in TablePress. Instead, the problems in the other plugins cause the browser to stop evaluating all JavaScript code on the page.To verity this, please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty. That way, we can find what’s causing this.

TobiasHi,
I just released a new version TablePress 1.12, which should not show this wrong behavior.
Could you please update (either automatically or by downloading from https://wordpress.org/plugins/tablepress/ and uploading to your site) and then try again?Regards,
TobiasFIXED! Upgrading to v1.12 of TablePress worked for me. Thank you very much Tobias.
Hi,
sure, no problem! Always happy to help!
Best wishes,
TobiasHi Tobias,
I’m seeing this problem on a client’s site. I’ve gone through and turned off plugins to look for conflicts and checked to see if it was the theme that was the issue. I’ve also worked to improve her site speed as well. We’re on v1.12.
In Firefox, I get the error message that “A web page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do? Stop it. Wait.” In Chrome, it won’t fully load and in Edge it also asks whether I want to stop the page loading.
Not being able to edit the tables is an ENORMOUS issue for this site. Thanks for any help you can give.
Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Yes, unfortunately, the “Edit” screen can get slow with many rows, but unfortunately, I don’t yet have a solution. 🙁 I’m already working on a completely rewritten “Edit” screen that will also be faster. In the meantime, my suggestion would be to edit/maintain the table offline, e.g. in Excel, and then re-import a saved CSV file into TablePress, replacing the existing version of the table. Sorry for not having better news here.
Regards,
TobiasThanks so much for the answer. It is a rather huge table. My client won’t be thrilled, but it’ll work for now. I look forward to the new “edit” screen. 🙂

Hi,
no problem 🙂
Best wishes,
TobiasI have TP 1.13
I still have this issue. Is it supposed to be fixed?Hi,
there are no known bugs about editing or saving in TablePress, but such problems can occur due to interference by other things like plugins or the theme.
Recently, I have seen it happen when users had the “jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin installed. Is that the case on your site? If so, can you please deactivate that?
Regards,
Tobias
