Can't save changes and can't upload images anymore

    Hi,

    two days ago I noticed I can’t save changes anymore, for instance if I try to change the date of a post, it always jumps back to the old date.

    In addition I can’t upload images anymore. The upload starts and it shows the image is being uploaded (Insert Media > Uploading). Then a message says “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later”.

    I tried several kinds of uploads – nothing works. Actually if I check my website via ftp, my uploaded images are in the correct folders but they are not shown in the CMS Media folder.

    Do you have caching on your site? Have you tried deactivating all plugins and switching to the default (twentythirteen) theme to start troubleshooting?

    I can’t deactivate my plugins and I can’t change my theme as I can’t change anything.
    My default theme is twentytwelve, my plugins are “WP-Simple-Viewer” (Pro) and “Search Engines” of Luis Alberto Ochoa.
    I don’t know if I have caching on my site, how can I check that?
    I emptied my cache in the browser already and also tried to re-install WordPress…

    You’ll need to use FTP (or other file manager your host provides) to rename the plugins folder – find it here:

    wp-content
    plugins.HOLD

    See if that changes it.

    Ok, I renamed the plugins folder and the plugins are successfully deactivated.
    Unfortunately it didn’t change anything:
    I still can’t save changes and can’t upload images.
    So, probably the plugins don’t cause the problem.
    Are there any other options?

    Have you checked with your hosting company about any possible server issues?
