# Can’t restore

 * Hello,
 * I am building a new site and have been trying and testing UpDraftPlus as I go.
   Everything was fine and I did many backup and restores but the restore has ceased
   to function.
 * I checked all of my permissions. Directories are set at 775 and files at 664.
   I checked disk space also. My site is about 1GB and I have allocated 10 GB of
   space for it. It is a hosted site. I have another WordPress/UpDraftPlus test 
   site on the same server and it is backing up and restoring with no problems.
 * Here is the error message at the end of the restore procedure:
 * Unpacking backup… (backup_2019-04-07-1406_My_Shop_cd325d908ce5-others.zip, 4.5
   MB)
    Unzip progress: 145 out of 145 files (16.2 MB, index.php-old) Move /home/
   my_domain/my_subdomain/wp/wp-content/languages -> /home/my_domain/my_subdomain/
   wp/wp-content/languages-old: Failed. Destination Directory UID=2356, GID=2361.
   Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2356/2356. Effective/real group
   IDs of the current process: 2361/2361. Error message: Could not move old files
   out of the way. You should check the file ownerships and permissions in your 
   WordPress installation (/home/my_domain/my_subdomain/wp/wp-content/languages)
   Restore failed…
 * Move /home/my_domain/my_subdomain/wp/wp-content/languages -> /home/my_domain/
   my_subdomain/wp/wp-content/languages-old: Failed. Destination Directory UID=2356,
   GID=2361. Effective/real user IDs of the current process: 2356/2356. Effective/
   real group IDs of the current process: 2361/2361.

 * Hi,
 * It appears to be a file permission/ownership issue, meaning UpdraftPlus or WordPress
   does not have the correct read or write permission to a certain folder or file.
 * The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/

 * Alternatively, you can run a new restoration but this time do not include the
   others.zip. You can just manually restore the others.zip manually via FTP. Unzip
   others.zip and upload inside the “wp-content/” folder

 * Thanks for your response. I updated to 1.16.11. and made a new backup. I was 
   able to restore it without any problems. It does worry me that I couldn’t restore
   a backup but I will continue to test as we develop our site.
