    Hi @ryantristar ,

Thanks so much for reaching out — and I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble updating the product image.

From your screenshot, it looks like the images might be stretched. I noticed that the Main Image Width is set to 600 in your WooCommerce > Product image settings. That should usually work, but sometimes changes like that don’t kick in right away.

When that happens, I recommend heading over to WooCommerce > Status > Tools, and clicking the “Regenerate shop thumbnails” button. That helps refresh the image sizes so they display properly on the front end.

If that still doesn’t do the trick, would you mind sending over a link to the affected product?

It would also be super helpful if you could share your System Status Report. To grab that:

    1. Head to WooCommerce > Status in your dashboard.
    2. Click Get system report and then Copy for support.

If there are any fatal error logs showing up, please send those over too. You can find them under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered that info, feel free to paste it into a code block here or upload it to pastebin.com and send us the link. That’ll help us dig deeper and get you a clearer answer.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Hello

Thanks for the response. I did check and see that thumbnails are being regenerated:

    https://freeimage.host/i/3imFKMl

I changed the Main Image Width from 600 to 300 on Fri afternoon and on Monday it was still running.

There are 1500 products on the site. How long should this take?

    Here is the log:

    Hi there!

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. I’ve reviewed it and can confirm that the regeneration process has started. However, please note that we cannot provide an exact time for when the process will be completed, as it depends on the number of images and your server performance.

Also, based on the System Status Report, I noticed that you are not using the latest versions of WooCommerce and WordPress. Could you please update both to the latest versions?

After updating, try regenerating the thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and check if that resolves the issue.

If the problem persists, could you please share the exact page URL where the images are not displaying correctly? This will help us further investigate and assist you accordingly.

    Thank you!

I have updated woocommerce and wordpress.

    New system report:

    https://pastebin.com/mUw49zxb

I can see that thumbnail regeneration is complete but the pictures remain unaffected.

I manually selected Regenerate shop thumbnails and it completed but no change.

    Hi @ryantristar,

Thanks for sharing the details and the system report.

I checked the product page, and the thumbnails appear to be using the correct image sizes. However, they’re being wrapped in a container with the class slick-slide, which seems to be affecting how they’re displayed. This layout is likely coming from your theme or another plugin.

Here is what I can see: https://snipboard.io/qPTf7R.jpg

To identify the source, I recommend temporarily switching to a default theme like Storefront, and deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce. Then, reactivate them one by one to pinpoint which one is modifying the thumbnail layout.

Let us know what you find!

    Hello

Thanks for your help. It is the sydney child theme Im using thats causing the issue.

How do I fix this? I tried multiple other themes and they all mess the site up in different ways.

    Hi @ryantristar,

I’m glad you were able to identify the issue, and I completely understand how something like this can impact your site’s functionality.

The best next step would be to contact the Sydney theme support team directly here: https://athemes.com/support/, as they’re in the best position to provide a solution.

The reason switching to another theme affects your design is likely because many of your site’s elements rely on the Sydney theme’s built-in components. When the theme changes, those components no longer function as expected, which disrupts the layout and design.

If you plan to use a different theme in the future, it’s a good idea to rebuild key design elements using a page builder or native blocks that aren’t theme-dependent. This way, your layout will be more consistent regardless of the theme in use.

Lastly, if you’ve been satisfied with the WooCommerce plugin and the support you’ve received, we’d be grateful if you could leave us a review: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/#new-post
