Are you sure that this isn’t just the default sidebar content? Have you looked at sidebar.php?
I don’t have a sidebar.php with this theme. The Primary sidebar is now displaying the text code I entered, however it took several hours to do so. Does it have something to do with the cache?
Are you running any caching plugins?
Esmi,
I had the same thought. I deleted the WP-Super Cache plugin. My website has a lot of images and a photo gallery so I thought this plugin would help load the site faster.
I removed the plugin and now I can add edits to my Text widgets and they show up immediately.
I have been using the plugin for several weeks and it is just this past week that it has effected edits and the populating of the new code changes.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks for the help.
Esmi,
I replied too soon. My text edits are not populating in Firefox or Chrome. The edits are not showing up.
I just don’t know where to look for the cause of this problem.
I’, still seeing <!-- Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2011-09-23 18:23:37 -->
in your generated page markup.
Esmi,
I deleted that plugin more than 5 hours ago. I went back in to the plugins after reading your post, and sure enough it was still there.
I don’t know why my changes of any kind are not taking for this WordPress website. I have been using WordPress to develop websites for the past 3 years and never ran into this before.
Can it be my server problem?
Have you asked your hosts if they’re running a web cache? I have a client whose hosts do and it’s a real pain trying to change anything on the site.
Not exactly on topic – but one thing that will speed up your site is shrinking those images – one is over 800K…that is huge.
Which widgets are the offending widgets?
Thank you. I deleted all my images, resized them, an reloaded to my Gallery. I hope this will help.
I think between this suggestion and the removal of the Cache plugin I should be OK.
I will post again if this continues to be a problem.
