cant redirect to home page

Hello,

first of all this is a great plugin and we use it on our networks all the time however I have come across a issue, we have updated this very old word press site to the latest version and the last part of the set up is adding the redirects from the old pages to the new pages, the old pages are made up of numbers and characters and we are not having any problems redirecting to any other page on the website apart from the home page , if we try to redirect a old page such as the link example to the home page of the site it does not work however that page will redirect to any other page on the site, this is the same for any link that we try to redirect to the home page

is it possible you can kindly advise why we are having this problem?
