• I’m having this really annoying problem. So I have WPtouch installed to make my blog http://www.latinabroad.com/ mobile friendly.

While the homepage looks fine, once you click on an individual blog post, you cannot read the article – you’re simply taken to another page where the title of the post shows up alone. You click it again, goes back to same page with link to that post alone.

A stupid loop. No access to individual posts whatsoever except to blog pages. Basically, can’t read any of my content published as posts, except for content published as pages.

All my plugins and WordPress are up-to-date. I can’t figure out what’s the problem, please help!

I have deactivated the plugin until this issue is solved because otherwise, people accessing my site on mobile will not be able to read ANY articles..

  • Hi, we took a look at your site but it doesn’t appear to be running WPtouch at the moment. Based on your description however, I wonder if you’re perhaps using a visual composer or another tool that wouldn’t place content into the traditional WordPress content area for WPtouch to load? Best of luck, c.

hello C, thanks for your answer. I had to deactivate the plug-in because over 60% of my traffic is mobile – that explains why my traffic dropped 40% in the last month’s readers couldn’t access any of my blog posts!

I am not very techie so not sure how I would find out whether my content is in the traditional WordPress content area or not?

What’s crazy is that I haven’t changed my theme in about 3 years. The WPtouch plug-in USED to work just fine…! So the change/’breakage’ must have happened in one of the latest WordPress or other plug-in updates. 🙁

Hi, could you verify that you’ve placed your analytics code in your WPtouch settings? Following this tutorial? It’s possible that your traffic hasn’t dropped, just that the reporting tool isn’t activated on mobile. Thanks, c.

hello again C. My traffic has dropped, it’s verified. I have already scene all my analytics – I can see the breakdown of my desktop, mobile viewers, etc. The reporting tool weren’t activated on mobile, I couldn’t see that over 60% of my visitors come from all of devices, my correct? Dither way, that’s not even the issue right now… :/

Really what I would love to know is why visitors cannot access my blog posts with the plug-in?! I activated it briefly in order to take the following screenshot for you. This is the screen I get every time anyone clicks on a blog post from the homepage, by the way:

    http://www.latinabroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Screenshot_2015-10-06-11-40-44.jpg

No matter how many times you click on that blog post title link, you are shown that very same screen over and over again – no access to the post, ever, at all. This happens with every blog post on my site 🙁 doesn’t happen with pages, though.

The first step in debugging your site would be to activate the theme default WordPress theme to see if the error also occurs with using Twenty Fifteen and WPtouch. After that, you’d need to test various combinations of your active plugins until you’ve determined which, if any, are causing your content not to load properly. Please let me know the results, c.
