Cannot get this plugin to work. When i upload file, on the back and it looks fine, byt on the frontend i get message: “Can’t read file (permission denied or file not found):” and a wrong location.

On the frontend the displayed location have really weird structure “/home/www/oscio.cz/www/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/sites/3/shared-files/IMG_20220320_113246.jpg”. On the back end it looks fine (https://med.scholastik.cz/shared-files/525/?IMG_20220320_113246.jpg) and the files opens normally.

I tried all the Technical settings, but it only changes the URL on backend.

My site is a multisite so maybe it has to something to do with that.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

My apologies for the delayed reply. Could you give us a temporary admin access to the site, so we could investigate the issue further? You can send the credentials using this form: https://www.sharedfilespro.com/support/

    Hi @matesss123,

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.

I am having this same issue.

Im having the same issue. I’ve tried amending the path to either be local to the server, or a URL. Neither seem to work.

It seems to have concatenated the folder locations within the path to the files?!

Can’t read file (permission denied or file not found):
    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wp/wp-content/uploads/inetpubwwwrootwpwp-contentuploads/shared-files/IMG20221020154412.jpg

Why has it joined up the inetpubwwwrootwpwp-contentuploads folders in the path when the shortcode is used for browsing?

At the moment its blank (saying folder-name), but I’ve tried
    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wp\
    https://www.XXXXXXXXX.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/shared-files

It is actually uploading the files (although gives the WordPress error, assume because it can’t confirm/find the file it just uploaded). When I look through the admin page, the file is there. It just won’t display it on the user’s page which errors with the extra folder name

    inetpubwwwrootwpwp-contentuploads

    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wp/wp-content/uploads/inetpubwwwrootwpwp-contentuploads/shared-files

@nacomuk Thanks for reporting this, the issue is now fixed in the latest version (1.6.86).

@mpurkaya76 Were you having an issue with a multisite or a Windows based installation?

Thanks yes that has fixed the folder name issue and permission, however I am just left with one more bug and one more query.

I still get an error (There has been a critcal error on this website) each time me or a customer uploads a file.

Also question. When adding the shortcode in the users personal area, so they can see files:- is there a display option setting for views like icon/content/details/list view (like a file explorer window would have, similar to the list view when searching in shared files)

    Thanks

Could you check your site’s php error log, to find out what the exact error message is there regarding that upload issue?

All available layout options can be found from the plugin settings and also some parameters can be set like they are listed at WP admin / Shared Files / Shortcodes.
