can’t post codes in entries

I’m trying to post a code for a tutorial I’m doing, but every time I click publish/update, I get redirected to the wordpress 404 page. I made sure my code was between the code syntax and converted the code to html-friendly entities. I still don’t know why the codes aren’t showing up.

It worked before on 2.6
