Hello @kennethbs005 ,
Glad you reached out, happy to help!
What you are reporting are server errors that are happening on the backend of your site. You’ll need to reach out to your web host for assistance there. Make sure you have those error messages handy for them.
Let us know how things go, and if you have further GiveWP questions we can assist with ! 🙂
Hello GC, thank you very much for reaching out and responding to my concerns. However, I had checked with Bluehost before submitting a concern here and this was their response:
Thank you for staying connected. I’ve now checked the issue with disabling both themes and plugins, but they did not help, which indicates it is not an issue from the server end. I would request you to check with the plugin vendor and get back to us if any thing needs to be updated from our end.
You can reopen the chat with us when you are ready. For convenience, I will have our conversation documented so you do not have to start from scratch. Here is your reference ID: I-23922290Any additional ideas to point and check? Thank you for your time.
Hello again,
I had checked with Bluehost before submitting a concern here
Ah, that would have been good to know 🙂 The more information the better up front.
In cases like this I would recommend to install the Health Check plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
We have a tutorial that can guide you with how to use it. It allows you to test your site by deactivating individual plugins, and changing that active theme that would normally affect the frontend of your website: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/
When you go into “Troubleshooting Mode”, all plugins will be deactivated by default, which is good. Next, I would suggest to activate ONLY the core GiveWP plugin and see if encounter the same error. If it works correctly, then you can start enabling a few plugins at a time until it breaks, and then let us know which plugin or setting was the culprit, and include your system info file.
To do this, navigate to GiveWP > Tools > System Info (tab), click the button to Get System Report and copy/paste ALL of the text in your email reply. Here is a (silent) video showing you were to find and copy this info.

Hello G. Coolidge,
Thanks again for getting back with me. I had submitted a ticket for ‘Theme Support’ to take a look at the theme to make sure everything on that end was working properly and waiting for a response and time for them to research the matter. Once I get that update I will report back.
Thanks again, Kenneth.
Hello G. Coolidge,
I hope all is well for the start of your week. Here’s an update. The Theme support took care of getting the site errors completed and the only core plugin from GiveWP that is activated still showed this error when I clicked on any campaign to attempt to edit:
Service Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Now, here is the generated report from GiveWP: Thank you for your time and assistance. Kenneth

thrownHello @kennethbs005 ,
Thanks for the update and the information! The database error you’re seeing in your error log is most likely related to the 503 server error you are encountering, and not the other way around. I did some research on that specific server error and most WordPress web hosts have an article that covers it on their documentation section.
I see the one for Bluehost is here:https://www.bluehost.com/blog/503-error-wordpress/
If that does not solve the issue, I would suggest to have Bluehost create a staging site for you, which is an exact copy of your live site, and see if the errors appear there as well. If they do not, I would suggest to get in touch with BH support again to see what the differences might be.
Let us know how things go! 🙂
Subject: Bluehost Findings: 503 Error Isolated to GiveWP Plugin
Hello G. Coolidge,
Thank you for your continued assistance. I wanted to share an update based on my follow-up with Bluehost Support so we can move this toward resolution.
Bluehost has completed a thorough review on their end and confirmed that the issue is not server-related. They checked core WordPress files, the .htaccess file, PHP version and limits, ModSecurity, server-side caching, and any server-level blocks. All of these were verified as functioning correctly.
Based on their error logs, Bluehost advised that the 503 error appears to be originating from a plugin conflict, specifically pointing to GiveWP. Below is the relevant error reference they provided:
thrown in
/wp-content/plugins/give/src/Framework/Database/DB.php
on line 247At this point, Bluehost has recommended working directly with the plugin vendor to identify what needs to be corrected within the plugin or its interaction with the database.
Please let me know what additional information you may need from my side (logs, screenshots, replication steps, etc.) so we can isolate and resolve this issue as efficiently as possible. I appreciate your help and look forward to your guidance on next steps.
Kind regards,
Kenneth SmithHello @kennethbs005 ,
Thanks for the update. The best way to move forward is to work with a staging site so we can see if things work correctly there as compared to your live site. Bluehost should be able to assist you in creating the staging site if needed.
After the staging site is created, please reach out to us via our contact form at https://givewp.com/contact-us/? Use the option that says “I am responding to a request to contact you.” Provide the link to this thread as context, and also provide the username/password to a new Administrator account for us to access the staging site to further troubleshoot.
I’m marking it as resolved here, and look forward to getting things sorted over in our Priority Support area! 🙂
